Terry Massey, CRTC, LCSW, LISW-CP, CCSOTS, LPHA
Forensic Psychotherapist, Trainer and Clinical Supervisor

Terry Massey was born and raised in Charlotte, N.C. A graduate of East Mecklenburg Senior High (1991), Terry went on to study at Johnson C. Smith University for two years until he transferred and graduated from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 1996 with a B.A. in Psychology. In 1997, Terry began studying with the International Association for Applied Control Theory, and after completing an advanced two-year program, was certified in the counseling techniques known as Applied Control Theory (more commonly linked to Reality Therapy). In that same year (1999) Terry was accepted into the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Social Work Program (with a concentration in Clinical Direct Services to Children and Families), and was honored in 2000 as the first recipient of the UNCSSW Social Justice Award. In 2002, he completed his studies and earned his MSW, with 75% of his work at Honors level. Terry began serving clients under the agency name ShiftingParadigms Counseling and Consulting, PC in 2005.

Terry has worked in the mental health and early childhood fields since 1994 (Charter Pines, American Daylight Treatment, Volunteers of America, Thompson Children’s Home, and United Family Services) and continues to practice in Charlotte as an Individual, Couple, Family and Group Psychotherapist. He has worked with a diverse population set, with ages ranging from four through adulthood, and continues to attend various trainings on a routine basis to ensure that he is offering professional and competent support to clients. Terry's practices are rooted primarily in the Cognitive Behavioral, Rational Emotive, Family and Systems, and Existential approaches to Psychotherapy.

Terry is licensed in both North and South Carolina (LCSW and LISW-CP), holds an internationally recognized certification in Applied Control Theory, and is certified nationally as a Clinically Certified Sex Offender Treatment Specialist (CCSOTS) through the National Association of Forensic Counselors and the American Academy of Certified Forensic Counselors (accredited through the National Commission for Certifying Agencies, the accreditation commission of the National Organization for Competency Assurance). He has chaired the University of North Carolina at Charlotte Social Work Community Advisory Board, and serves as a consulting advisor for local mental health agencies providing Community Support Team and Intensive in Home Services. Terry is also recognized nationally as Clinical Supervisor (certified through the National Association of Social Workers) and provides routine supervision to both LCSW-A and LPC-A practitioners. In addition, he provides Clinical Supervision to Master’s level students through internship in various clinical agencies, including the C.W. Williams Community Health Center, where he served as the Director of Behavioral Health Services for many years.

Sherise Parker (she/her) is a graduate student at Case Western Reserve University who specializes in Mental Health in Adults with years of experience working with youth, families, and couples. She currently works for One School Christian Academy as a School Counselor that serves predominately students of color from Kindergarten-8th grade. In this position, Mrs. Parker fights to destroy toxic mental health stigmas while simultaneously advocating for healing and restoration. Her passions include working with individuals dealing with childhood trauma, mood disorders, depression, low self-esteem, as well as individuals trying to navigate life transitions. In addition, Mrs. Parker earned her Bachelors of Arts degree from Kent State University and recently uprooted back to Columbus, OH from Charlotte, NC with her husband and two children. She looks forward to supporting a variety of diverse clients through their journey to becoming a healed and happier self.

Certified Life Coach


Tameka Adebayo is a retired United States Army veteran who served in multiple combat tours, she has developed a deep understanding of stressors that lead to short- and long-term mental health issues. A Master Resiliency Trainer, Certified Life Coach, and Licensed Clinical Social Worker Supervisee. Tameka aims to provide much needed services to adults, children, families, and couples. 


A native of Hampton, VA, Tameka earned a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from American Military University and will complete a Masters in Social Work from University of Southern California specializing in Adult Mental Health in May of 2022. Upon completion, Tameka will continue practicing as a Clinical Supervisee in Social Work to obtain licensure. Her focus will surround providing culturally competent services to underrepresented Black and Brown communities, and the eradication of the negative stigma of mental health services. Her long-term goal is to become Doctor of Psychology (PsyD).
